Higlights
• A microbial cell factory integrated with ethanosolv fractionation was established.
Quercus mongolica lignocellulosic biomass was used as feedstock for the first time.
p-Coumaric acid (pCA) was produced from lignocellulosic biomass for the first time.
Corynebacterium glutamicum was metabolically engineered for pCA overproduction.
The highest pCA production by any organism reported to date was achieved.
