Title: Engineering of Corynebacterium glutamicum for para-coumaric acid biosynthesis from lignocellulosic biomass

Bioresource Techonlogy, Volume 435, Nobember 2025, 132860

Higlights

A microbial cell factory integrated with ethanosolv fractionation was established.

  • Quercus mongolica lignocellulosic biomass was used as feedstock for the first time.

  • p-Coumaric acid (pCA) was produced from lignocellulosic biomass for the first time.

  • Corynebacterium glutamicum was metabolically engineered for pCA overproduction.

  • The highest pCA production by any organism reported to date was achieved.
